History of Distilling in Ohio

 Dating back to the mid-18th Century with the colonies expanding into Western Virginia, to what is now the Ohio Valley encompassing Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana; distilling has played an important part of our region’s history. With mostly farmers moving west to claim land and no modern preservation methods available, distilling provided a crucial method of turning all the harvests from the fertile land into money, further fueling the expansion and American discovery. Today, this exploration continues with new methods, different grains, varied maturation techniques, and new generations sharing in the American Spirit!
